The Author: Tids and Bits

Hi! I’m Lauren. Now, you probably read that as Lauren. It’s actually pronounced, lau-REN. Does that make sense? Think of Sophia. I know, I know, it’s definitely spelled incorrectly; however, when you respect your parents as much as I do, you don’t want them to feel bad about making an error as grievous as misspelling their offspring’s name, essentially dooming them to a life of having to continually correct people about how to pronounce it, so you learn how to ALWAYS blame the person who mispronounced it (instead of your parents) for THEIR grievous error. Case in point,”It’s actually lau-REN”. You hear how that sounds, right? Honestly, you really can’t say that without sounding like you think you’re the queen of the whole planet, and that someone somehow FORGOT that, so in all seriousness usually I don’t correct people. So if we ever meet (and I hope we do!), and if you accidentally refer to me as Lauren, I will not be offended, and in all honesty, I also quite enjoy the name Lauren.

Writing is definitely in my heart. That sounds cheesy, but I actually have a tattoo of a tiny pen right around my heart area, so yup, I’m pretty legit. Okay, nope, that’s not true. But I love to write, and even more, I love to make people laugh. If I were to tell you one thing I believe to be true, it’s that laughter is a healer and a uniter. It can transform a bad day into a good day, or at least a survivable day. Laughter can lend a hand-up when you’re stuck in a well of sadness or grief that you’re not sure you’ll ever make it out of. It creates memories that are so enduring that when you close your eyes, you are transported to that very moment in time (and no, this isn’t because just smoked a little somethin’-somethin’!). In its purest form, it transcends origins, languages, backgrounds, histories, and can bring people together you never thought to put in the same room.

The intent of Paislee’s Humourous Happenings (Note: copyrighted x 1 billion, TM x 1 trillion, patent pending before I was even born) is to bring joy and laughter to people for whatever reason they need it, whether it be a simple mind break or something bigger.

Details about Paislee such as her occupation, ethic background, language(s), socioeconomic status, and faith are not delved into, as the intent is that her stories transcend those boundaries, and in effect are meant for all humans, whoever and wherever they may be.

With the purest of hearts (As it’s still very early in the morning, I have not had one coherent thought yet today,so I think this also makes my heart very pure?), I hope Paislee’s stories bring you at least a small smile, and contribute to making your trek through life a bit lighter.
